Career Signal

Compare job options by your own priorities, and see why one comes out on top.

Working Runs in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Try it below on sample data.

The problem

Comparing options by gut feeling hides why one comes out on top.

What I built

A tool where you set and weight the criteria, see the reason behind every score, and learn when the top choice is a close call.

  • Five criteria you weight
  • A reason behind every score
  • Warns when it's a close call

Features and limits

Built and tested

  • Five criteria you weight: skills evidenced, level fit, location fit, your interest and room to grow.
  • Every score lists its reasons, including which required skills are missing.
  • Sensitivity: says whether the top choice survives a 10-point change in any single weight, and which change would flip it.
  • Decision log records each pursue or pass together with the weights used.

Limits

  • Advisory only: it orders your options by your own priorities and does not predict hiring outcomes.
  • Inputs (interest, growth ratings, skills) are yours; the ranking is only as good as they are.
  • Fictional roles in the demo; no data is collected.

Planned

Explainable matching, editable criteria and privacy-first storage.

How to use
  • Move the weights and watch the order and the reasons.
  • Read the close-call line before deciding.
  • Pursue or pass; the log keeps why.
How it works
  • Score = weighted average of five parts, each between 0 and 1, with its reason.
  • Sensitivity re-ranks with each weight shifted by ±10 points.
